MIX & MASTER

We can mix and master (or mix only/master only) a song you´ve recorded in another studio or perhaps at home. If you decide to record at home and use the finalization in our studio, it should be noted that a poorly recorded track or a track recorded in poor acoustic conditions will not sound professional even with the best mix, and mastering will not improve a poorly mixed track. Therefore, it is always better to consider whether it would not be better to record the song in our studio, where you will be 100% sure that the quality of the recording will be sufficient for a good mix and master, you will get the feedback from producer instantly and you will not even have to worry about sending the tracks to the mix and master. In addition, this option will cost you practically the same. Why? Because recording a song in our studio is almost as time-consuming as communicating with you remotely, downloading all your stems, checking them, possibly correcting them and preparing the project for mixing.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME?

The starting price for a mix and master of 1 song is 3,000 CZK, this price covers 95% of all the projects we do. The price for mastering only is 1500 CZK. We check the projects and tracks before starting work, and if we estimate that the project is too complicated and you cannot fit into this price, we will notify you immediately. The price also includes two rounds of adjustments based on your feedback.

HOW TO BEGIN?

Send us an e-mail or a message on Facebook to arrange when you intend to send us the data and when you need to have the song ready. Please do not send us anything straight away and do not tell us the deadline without prior agreement, as it is possible in some cases that we may not be able to accommodate you in time, e.g. due to a large number of projects we are currently working on or our vacation.

HOW ABOUT PAYMENT AND WHEN WILL I GET THE SONG?

After we receive a deposit on our account, we´ll get started. We usually send the finished work within 7 calendar days after receiving all data from you. Much faster processing, for example by the next day,  can be arranged for an additional fee, but it is also necessary to pay in advance.

IN WHICH FORMAT SHOULD I SEND DATA?

  • Always send tracks in WAV format at 48,000 (or 44,100) kHz and 24 bit (you can find these options in the export window of each DAW)

  • Export each track separately unless you specifically want to preserve the stereo mix or balance between mixed tracks.

  • Always export acapellas in mono or center-centered stereo, with faders reset and inserts removed. None of the exported acapellas should "go into the red" on the meter. Definitely don't send acapellas to the mix with reverb, echo or limiter, even if it sounds better that way. But if you have a completely specific requirement for an effect in a certain track, on the contrary, export the modified track directly to us, because it is not worth it for us to go trying to imitate that effect exactly as you have it set in the project.

  • Export the instrumental tracks to us again in WAV 44.100/48.000 kHz and ideally 24 bit (but always in the same frequency and bit depth as you sent the acapellas), but this time in STEREO. If you have a very specific idea about the mix of the instrumental or you don't have access to the individual tracks, send it to us mixed.

  • Always export acapellas and instrumentals timed from starting of the timeline.

  • It will definitely help us if you send the BPM, Key and most importantly "demo" of your mix so we can feel the vibe and get an idea of the whole song. You can also send a reference recording so we know what sound you like.

  • If we are only doing mastering for you, please send us one mixed track in the above format, or specially mixed acapella and instrumental, without adjustments on the master fader and with a total output of about -6/-3 db below digital zero.

  • In addition to tracks, we also accept Cubase, and FruityLoops projects (be careful, in addition to the projects themselves - .cpr, .ptx, .flp, you must also send the audio folder or audio files containing the data that the project works with. If you use plugins, which are not supplied as standard with these DAWs and you want to keep their sound, but you still need to export the tracks to us.)

HOW DO I SEND YOU MY DATA?

  • Upload your data online using some free file transfer services and send us the link via email.

  • If you use Dropbox, share the zipped file to stepan@unblbl.cz.

  • If you use Google Drive, please share the zipped file to unbeatablerecords@gmail.com.

  • By prior arrangement, it is possible to visit our studio with the data on the USB drive.
